Freight Market Summary
Clean Tankers
U.S. Gulf clean tanker tonnage remains plentiful, but steady exports into Latin America and the East Coast keep rates supported. Risk premiums and extended voyage buffers continue to stabilize market sentiment despite latent oversupply.
Crude Tankers
VLCCs maintain their preference for the Cape of Good Hope route, avoiding the Red Sea and Hormuz. Prolonged voyages continue absorbing global capacity, keeping long-haul rates elevated, particularly on Middle East–Asia flows.
LNG Shipping
Atlantic LNG demand remains stable and risk-averse routing keeps spot availability minimal. The market remains tight, with rates steady and susceptible to sudden spikes if demand accelerates.
Routing & Geopolitical Conditions
No major changes—clean, crude, and LNG vessels continue to favor Cape of Good Hope detours, extending voyage durations, supporting freight pricing, and restricting available tonnage.
